Jack Terwiel served for 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, completing 13 years enlisted and 10 years commissioned service. His
primary jobs, both enlisted and commissioned, were intelligence related. He retired at Osan Air Base in Sep 1981 and went
to Hawaii to work as a contractor on intelligence and operations automation systems. He returned to work in Korea in
1985 to train military personnel to use the automated systems. He retired from contractor work in Sep 1997.
After a boring several months he became immersed in retiree activities in Korea, and hasn't come up for air since
then. He served as the volunteer Director of the Osan Air Base Retiree Activities Office from Jan 1998 until Sep 2006.
From Oct 2006 to Dec 2007, he was employed as the Korea Retirement Services Officer for Eighth Army. He returned
to volunteering, operating initially from a downtown office, and re-opened the full-time RAO in June 2011.
