The Naval Medical Center San Diego is the largest of the three to which Korea retirees may be flown. With a staff of over 4,300 personnel, there is virtually no service that is not available at ths facility.
Transportation
Air Evacuation is the normal means
of traveling to this facility. All transportation is provided. However, if travel involves transiting Hawaii and remaining overnight, travelers are reminded that Tripler Army Medical Center is responsible for providing quarters at no expense to the traveler.

There is also a wide and diverse assortment of commercial accommodations available within four miles of the hospital. Shown are the full costs as of early 1999. Retirees are eligible for a discount, and members of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) may be eligible for an even deeper discount.
